My Favorite Investing Apps
Public - Best for beginners (tie)
Public was designed with the beginner investor in-mind: their platform is easy-to-use, and contains treasure troves of helpful information to help you better understand investing. They’re also starting to expand their account offerings, with a new treasury account that lets you earn a high yield on your cash. However, you can’t yet open a retirement account with them.
Robinhood - Best for beginners (tie)
As far as investing platforms go, it’s tough to find one more intuitive than Robinhood. Their entire platform was built from the ground-up to be as easy to use as possible, even for brand-new investors. I started my investing journey on Robinhood, and highly recommend it for beginners. The downside is that their account options are relatively limited, though they’ve addressed this recently by adding an IRA option.
Fidelity - Best for experienced investors
While I have holdings on all 3 of these investing platforms, Fidelity is where I keep the majority of my own investments because it offers the most investment accounts. I have a brokerage account, IRAs, a 401k, an HSA, and my checking account with Fidelity - it’s a true all-in-one platform. However, it’s not nearly as intuitive as either Public or Robinhood, so it can be difficult to navigate for beginners.

This does not affect my decision to recommend these 3 investing platforms, as they are truly my top recommendations, evidenced by the fact that I have investment balances on all of them myself.
